Termination Products

Termination Products are many and varied for different applications.

  • Wall mounted
  • Surface mounted
  • 19" rack panel styles
  • MUTOA styles
Manufacturers often make their products modular and interchangeable so that one socket will fit all styles of fixtures, surface mount, wall mount or panel mounted styles. All products are available in a range of colours and mounting fixtures will have a place for labelling. Ensure you are consistent with these products in a site. This means if the site is rated as Cat 6 then only Cat 6 product may be used throughout the site.

When choosing a socket from a manufacturer try using their tooling and sockets before you buy it. Most are relatively simple to use while others in my experience may be confusing to employ wires in the right order or may have special tooling that may or may not be easy to use. With some product training from a sales representative most types are easily learned. Once you are happy that you can use the system easily, installation will be fast.

What ever you use or what ever is specified it is critical to maintain the twist right up to the block where the wire is punched down. It is important to have no air gaps in your twists prior to punch down.
